Reenrolling Students

Welcome Back!

Reenrollment is for students who wish to resume undergraduate study through the School of Arts and Sciences - New Brunswick.  There are different applications for different types of students.  Choose the application below that is right for you:

How to Apply

If you have not yet completed a bachelor’s degree . . .

And

You were admitted to the School of Arts and Sciences in New Brunswick via Rutgers Undergraduate Admissions (or to one of the former RU-NB liberal arts colleges) and earned at least one semester of grades at Rutgers.  Apply as a reenrolling SAS student:

Note:
 SAS students seeking to reenroll after Academic Suspension or Dismissal may apply for Summer term ONLY.  For additional information, please  Academic Standing policy on Reinstatement.

Submit your Rutgers-New Brunswick SAS Reenrollment Application

OR

You were admitted to any of the Rutgers schools via Undergraduate Admissions, but never earned any semester grades at Rutgers. Apply as a new Rutgers student:

OR

You were admitted to another Rutgers school via Rutgers Undergraduate Admissions, completed course work toward a bachelor’s degree, and now wish to return as a student in the School of Arts and Sciences - New Brunswick.  Apply as a reenrolling Rutgers student:

Note:
Students whose first admission to Rutgers was to degree programs in the School of Management and Labor Relations or the Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy are not eligible to reenroll into the School of Arts & Sciences – New Brunswick.

If you have a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers . . .

AND

You wish to complete a second bachelor's degree in the School of Arts and Sciences - New Brunswick.  Apply as a reenrolling student:

Second degree admissions are limited and carry restrictions on choice of major. Admission is competitive and meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee admission. You will be contacted for an interview by an SAS Dean for Nontraditional Students after you submit your application.

OR

You wish to take courses on a non-matriculating (non-degree) basis in Fall or Spring semesters in the School of Arts and Sciences - New Brunswick to complete requirements for admission to graduate or professional programs, or to complete an SAS major or minor begun during your first Rutgers degree.

You wish to apply to the Postbaccalaureate PreHealth Program.

OR

You were admitted to a graduate program at Rutgers after completing a Rutgers bachelor’s degree, and now wish to enroll as an undergraduate in the School of Arts and Sciences - New Brunswick for a second bachelor’s degree.  Apply as a reenrolling Rutgers student:

All applications are reviewed on a rolling basis according to date received.  Early submission is essential if students wish to register on time for their semester of return.  Students will receive an official decision letter via email and U.S. Mail after their application has been reviewed.

Deadline to Change or Cancel your Reenrollment Application


Reenrolling applicants may modify or withdraw their reenrollment application by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..   Include "Withdraw My Reenrollment Application" or "Modify My Renrollment Application" in the subject heading with your RUID number and the changes needed, such as changing your semester of return or providing new email or telephone contacts.  Once your official decision notice arrives via email, it is no longer possible to submit changes.
