- Declared Class Year: 2020
- Minor(s): Critical and Comparative Race and Ethnic Studies; Religion
- Major(s) : Social Work
- Favorite class: Color-lines and Borderlands (01:595:202). It is an SAS Signature Course offered through the Department of Latino and Caribbean Studies. This class dives into the disparities Black and Latinx people face in America by using literature, art, popular culture, and media to understand the social construct of race in regards to inequality. I learned so much from this class, professor and TA, and classmates.
- Favorite thing about being an SAS Student: Opportunities to learn a variety of subjects! The SAS core gives you the option of taking classes outside of your comfort zone and area of focus. As a social work major, I have very specific classes I need to take but through SAS, I was able to take Introduction to Art History and a class all about Climate Change. I loved both of these courses and learned material I would never have if not offered and encouraged by SAS.
